
Morocco fight back to defeat spirited Haiti
Morocco secured their place in the World Cup knockout stage with an entertaining 4–2 victory over Haiti at Atlanta Stadium.
Haiti took a surprise lead in the 10th minute when Lenny Joseph’s backheel deflected into the net off goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
Achraf Hakimi equalised in the 39th minute, but Wilson Isidor restored Haiti’s advantage four minutes later with a spectacular long-range strike.
Ismael Saibari made it 2–2 in first-half stoppage time, finishing Hakimi’s low cross to score in his third consecutive group match.
Substitute Soufiane Rahimi gave Morocco the lead in the 78th minute before Gessime Yassine completed the victory with a late goal confirmed by VAR.
The result saw Morocco finish second in Group C behind Brazil, while Haiti ended their campaign without a point despite a spirited performance.
